Located within the Carlyle Studios in the Chelsea and Fulham area, The Washroom Gallery is dedicated to showcasing London’s most promising emerging artists. As an artist-driven space, our curatorial direction is co-developed and co-led with the resident artists who shape their practices in direct response to personal, ecological and societal concerns.

The Washroom Gallery thrives as an experimental venue, offering dynamic programming that reflects the evolving visions of our artists. Hosting both solo and group exhibitions, we explore themes that emerge directly from the artists’ recent work and creative exploration. The gallery serves as a testing ground for innovative concepts, providing an intimate platform for artists to engage directly with audiences.

In partnership with Morley College, The Washroom Gallery exists not only as a vibrant exhibition venue but as a living, hybridized environment where artists based in the Carlyle Studios develop their practices within the rigorous and expansive framework of contemporary art.

The Washroom Gallery proudly embraces its dual role as an artist-driven space and as a washroom, embodying the intersection of utility and creative agency.
