SILHOUETTES OF VOICE AND FORM

This collection of printmaking art works explores the relationship between identity, emotion, and expression through experimental processes in monoprint, screen printing, drypoint, photoprint and etching as they are my new journey.

In this exhibition, I explored and interested in different techniques as a gestural exploration of text and form with positive and negative space, using cut-out forms on screen print, drypoint and burr technique on a plate, etching on zinc plate, photoprint on canvas and paper. Through layered textures, bold silhouettes, and hand-cut forms, I explore themes of identity, vulnerability, and strength. Each print captures a moment—some quiet and introspective, others loud and declarative—marking the shift from self-doubt to self-empowerment. From tracing my name in shadows to proclaiming that our voices are powerful, these works speak to reclaiming space, setting boundaries, and reaching toward a more honest, hopeful version of myself.

Exhibition Dates: 26th March to 4th April

Through my artwork I try to capture celebrations and diversity. I tell stories through shape and colour that are inspired by my feelings, dreams and everyday life. I have depicted strong characters that are living in a colourful world balanced between real life and my imagination. I play with disruption of the human form to reveal my view on both inner and outer beauty.

My paintings use strong colours revealing hidden emotion. I haven’t relied too much on technique because most of time I’m in a hurry. I need to be quick because emotions will not wait.

Exhibition Private View: Wed 5th March
Dates: from 3rd March to 17th March

Re-emergence

Show Details

The theme of the exhibition, Re-emergence, represents my journey toward positive transformation and embracing new beginnings. This body of work reflects the personal changes I’ve made, the challenges I’ve faced, and the growth that has shaped my path. Each piece symbolizes a moment of change, a step toward becoming a better version of myself.

In this exhibition, I explore the concept of re-emergence in both a literal and figurative sense—shedding old habits, embracing new perspectives, and reinventing parts of my life that once seemed stagnant. The artworks serve as visual metaphors for this process, illustrating the moments when something new begins to emerge from the old.

Through Re-emergence I aim to invite others to reflect on their own experiences of change. Change is not always easy, but it is essential for growth. My work is a celebration of the courage it takes to face uncertainty and the strength found in the act of transformation.

As I continue my journey, I am committed to embracing positive change and encouraging others to do the same. This exhibition is not just an artistic expression but a declaration of my commitment to evolving and re-emerging stronger than before.

    Trials and Experiments

My works are centred around the natural world and aims to explore human connections with nature. I am particularly interested in painting trees and flowers as they spark old memories of childhood, happiness and well-being. I would often visit gardens or forests, take pictures and recreate them through traditional mediums such as paintings or dry-point etchings.

These artworks are my current experiments. I am mainly using acrylic, watercolour & gouache paints, pens and ink to achieve a layering affect creating depth in my work which can reveal the past and present moments. My artistic language consists of celebrating the use of colour and compositions of lines and shapes. I am also experimenting with a new semi-abstract style to step out of my comfort zone and try something new.

My aim is to provoke thought and encourage my audience to recall happy moments in their life, a memory or place that makes them feel excited and inspired. This is my journey and memories through a semi-abstract approach.

    Underground Lines

Facing the windows in the tube train, I realize that instead of a view towards the far horizon and the expansive thoughts that such a view allows, the rhythm and repetition of the blurry power lines on the wall of the tunnel forces my thoughts inwards towards reflection.

Introspective thoughts are helped along by the flow of the moving train and creates internal space of limitless potential.

The tube tunnels flow like underground rivers, mirroring the flow of blood through my body. My mind is still, while my body continues accelerating through time and space.

The works in this exhibition reflect elements of these journeys both internal and external.

    Being perfectly still,
    Yet moving,
    Running,
    Like an underground river,
    Your body loves,
    Changes and disintegrates.
